These wonderful books are awesome for helping children to develop. The stories are perfectly interactive and their simplicity means even the youngest readers will enjoy them and relate to them.
The hardwearing pages, simple illustrations, repetition and lovely touchy-feely elements to each page make the [That's not my...] books ideal for reading with your child.
Unlike other board books, there are swatches of different textures on each page designed to encourage your little one to explore and play independently.

Younger babies in particular will adore all the different materials, especially the fluffy ones, used in this board book.

That's Not My Teddy by Fiona Watt and Rachel Wells is another addition to the wonderful Touchy-Feely series. This is a sturdy, well-made book that encourages tactile and visual interaction with the youngest of readers. The bold colour and bright illustrations encourage investigation of the 'feely' element of the book, as each child searches for their teddy. This exploration of differing textures helps promote sensory awareness for the very young. Summary: Bold, bright colours and illustrations, coupled with textual repetition, made this a firm favourite with the youngest children in the nursery.'

A favourite of both my daughter and I
This was the first "That's not my..." that I bought for my daughter and introduced to her at only a few months old. As soon as she was able to she was experimenting with the textures on each page and was fascinated from the first read and remains so 2 years later! I originally chose this "That's not my..." as it had characters that any baby or child could relate to plus it had a fabulous range of different textures to play with on each page. I was not disappointed and neither was my little girl. She was constantly engrossed and amazed with each turn of the page - her favourite being the teddy with scratchy paws as not only was it a rough texture but also made a noise when she scratched it with her nail! My daughter has adored "That's not my..." books ever since being introduced to this one & makes a bee-line to them whenever we are in the library or in a book shop; however this book remains her firm favourite and I just hope she is willing to now share this with her 3 month old brother who I'm sure will enjoy it just as much.
