More support for School Aid

Vicki Offin donating Usborne books to School Aid

The relationship between Usborne Book at Home and School Aid goes back a number of years, with many Organisers and Leaders having donated books or free book allowances to this wonderful cause.

Team Leader, Vicki Offin, is the most recent Organiser to have donated to the charity (which sends books out to schools in many parts of Africa). School Aid kindly featured Vicki in a recent blog, recognising her donation: read the full story here.

Vicki's fabulous contribution was, by pure coincidence, complemented by a consignment from our own Books at Home warehouse. Senior Operations Controller, Maria Cooper, and Accountant, Jon Twiss, were on hand to help the School Aid team fill a van full of old and "shop-soiled" Usborne books, ready to ship to Cape Town in South Africa.

School Aid General Manager, Claire Junak, thanked both the team here and Vicki as follows:

"I had to write and thank you. Your support is greatly appreciated. As School Aid expands its reach and operation, your books are helping us to reach and influence the lives of over 50,000 children a year... I have had a quick calculation and between you, Nina Petty (fellow Usborne Organiser) and your head office, you have donated 12,000 books in the last eight months. It's amazing and they are all so lovely. Thank you".

Something to be very proud of.
