Focus on supporting new Organisers to grow their own businesses

Zoë Vobořilová, only achieved promotion to Team Leader herself this spring, and since then has promoted to Group Leader status in June and seen three of her new recruits promote to Team Leader status (two in May and one in June). And as if that isn't enough, Zoë recruited fifteen new Organisers in May alone! Here she shares the secrets behind her success:
"Just a year ago I began my wonderful Usborne career here in the Czech Republic (I joined Usborne a year before that, to be able to have access to beautiful English children's books for my three boys, Samuel, Jan and Otakar). I am originally from the North East of England, not far from the seaside town of Redcar, and it was my dream to become a professional violinist in a European orchestra that brought me out to this country in 1994 to study at the Prague Academy of Music. For ten years I performed with this orchestra in capital cities throughout Europe and further afield in Japan, America and the Middle East.
When I decided to become a Team Leader with Usborne, I knew that it would take the same amount of focus and determination and I was ready to rise to the challenge with the guidance and support of my wonderful Mentor (and European Group Leader), Sandy Wild. Sandy is not only a truly dedicated Mentor who has been with me every step of the way but she has also shown me the importance of great leadership. With Sandy's inspiring example to follow, I not only achieved Team Leader myself this Spring but have also managed to inspire many others to join my European Usborne team The Red Arrows (fifteen new members from three countries joined my team in May). Three very talented ladies, Šárka Frelichová, Irena Zigmanová and Anna Hebronová have now become Team Leaders themselves!
Building an Usborne business in Europe is challenging and extremely rewarding. Team building in Europe is incredibly exciting too, with local knowledge and an understanding of the language (I speak fluent Czech) essential to European Usborne Organisers as we continue our ground breaking work day by day. I have driven thousands of miles throughout Europe over the past few months to meet many of my new team members personally and pass on my excitement and enthusiasm for Usborne books. My aim is to inspire from the start – with team building high on the agenda. My team members know that they can all achieve with Usborne and that I will give them as much help and support along the way as they need to do it.
I try to lead by example and give help as generously as it was given to me, which has included arranging book fairs myself in schools and preschools up and down the country that I have then been able to pass onto my team members as my representatives in their local areas. My team and I work closely together to find new and creative ways of bringing Usborne books to as many children in Europe as possible, presenting them in a way so that children learning English as a second language can enjoy and appreciate them too."
