Organiser of the Month - Julita Medialdea

28th February 2020

For one Usborne Organiser, a simple search for better English language books for her students led to an exciting opportunity to improve English language learning in her local community. Since joining in April 2018, our February Organiser of the Month has gone from strength to strength as she continues to build her business, her way.

Julita was nominated by her mentor, Encarna:

"I first met Julita in a coffee shop, a long way from home. She wanted to know more about the Usborne opportunity but was unsure whether to join. It was the day before the 23rd April 2018, when St George, the patron saint of Catalunya, is celebrated every year with the traditional exchange of roses and, of course, books!

It was the perfect reason to join, and I was over the moon when she decided not to wait for the next school year to start - she was up and running before the end of the month.

Julita is very committed to teaching English, which she loves, and I am so glad her passion now extends to Usborne books. She has done a wonderful job of raising brand awareness in her local area and she continues to spread the word to other schools nearby. She combines her job with looking after her two boys and her hobby, cooking! I wonder where she gets the recipes from...

I am very proud to work with Julita. She has been an exceptional colleague since day one and I am full of admiration for her work."

Julita shares her Usborne story with us:

"As a nursery and primary school teacher in Spain, I was always looking for new books. I often used my trips to the UK to load up my luggage with books and games, but I knew this wasn't the solution. I also ordered books online, but I was not always pleased with what I received.

I discovered Usborne while surfing the Internet, I then met my Mentor, Encarna, and became an Organiser a couple of weeks later! I'm both a book and a food lover, so I'm always keen to combine both of my passions with my family and my job.

Sometimes it is difficult and I wish I had more time for my book stands and parties - I see so much potential in Usborne! People in my community are certainly starting to become interested in the books. For instance, last month I was invited to a coffee shop and two schools approached me and asked me to advise them about English books. My job as a teacher is a great help as this gives me a wonderful insight into what teachers need, as well as what students learning English as an additional language like.

I love Usborne books! I love to sell them at parties with a cup of coffee and some biscuits... I find sugar always helps!"

Congratulations, Julita, and thank you for sharing your story with us! A March new title of your choice will be on its way to you shortly.
