Organiser of the Month - Jody Berry

16th May 2019

Running your own business can certainly be daunting, but incredible things can be achieved when those challenges and obstacles are overcome with the support of a friendly and dedicated team. May's Organiser of the Month has worked hard to overcome her own challenges and has become a fantastic Mentor, using her experience to help others achieve their Usborne goals.

Jody was nominated by her team member, Rebecca Gregory:

"Jody is a much-loved member of our wider team. She is incredibly enthusiastic and she is a consistent Mentor, always positive and looking for new ways to support and coach her team to succeed in smashing their goals.

What I love most about Jody is that if anyone in her team ever needs guidance, support or even just a little bit of reassurance that they are moving in the right direction, Jody is there armed not only with her extensive knowledge and experience, but also with humour and genuine friendliness.

I'm so proud to be part of Jody's team, and seeing her hard work pay off is so inspiring. In fact, Jody has been an inspiration to me since the day I asked for more information about joining her team. I have every confidence that she will continue going from strength to strength!"

Jody shares her Usborne story with us:

"I joined Usborne in August 2016 when my son was two and my daughter was six months old. I initially joined just to get some cheap books, as we all love reading. I had never really looked into working from home and was not aware of the extent of the opportunities offered by Usborne.

I was given an awesome Mentor and became part of a really friendly division, which was so helpful. I soon realised just how popular Usborne books are. My sales in those first few weeks were amazing: I quickly achieved my two Quickstart goals and I got hundreds of pounds worth of free books for my children.

I began to see what could be achieved with Usborne but I didn't really believe that I could do it. My Mentor, Karen, mentioned team building to me but, again, it was something that I was a bit unsure of. I decided to try and go for it, and successfully achieved the Recruiter's Reward and Double Promotion Bonus

I had only been an Organiser for ten weeks and I had already achieved so much! It gave me such a confidence boost to realise I could do these things. I quickly fell in love with mentoring and helping others start their Usborne journey.

When I was pregnant with my children, we decided we were going to home school them. It was something that we felt strongly about, however at the time it unfortunately didn't seem like a financially viable option. It was then that I made the decision to not return to work, and made Usborne my full time job.

Fast forward to now, and I have been a Team Leader since I promoted in October 2016 and, in March of this year, I promoted to Group Leader. It's thanks to Usborne that I have not returned to work and I am able to home educate my children. We love to have days out and learn about different places - without my Usborne income this would not have been possible!

It's not been an easy journey for me to get here. I have grown so much as a person in these last three years, overcoming massive fears and gaining the confidence to move my business forward. I absolutely love helping others achieve their goals - I have made some amazing friends whilst being with Usborne, and we're always there to support and cheer each other on.

I am proud of myself for pushing myself forward and overcoming my fears. The one bit of advice I would give to others is: just go for it! What's the best that could happen?

Congratulations, Jody! A copy of our May Book of the Month will be on its way to you very soon.
