Organiser of the Month - Amy Banks

As a new Organiser, getting your business off to a flying start can be the key to a successful new career. October's Organiser of the Month has shown how she has embraced a new way of working which is yielding brilliant results for her business. 

Amy was nominated by her mentor Christina Taylor: 

"Amy joined my team only a few weeks ago and has blown me away with her hard work, determination and creativity. She achieved Kit Boost and Kit Refund with weeks to spare and is well on her way to achieving Recruiters Reward.

Although Amy has only been with me for a few weeks she has done things that have taken her way outside her comfort zone, grabbing the opportunity with both hands and giving it 110%. 

As well as doing the usual things that Organisers do when they first join (such as drawing up a list of FROGS, setting up a Facebook page and website and contacting friends and family about the books), she also has a number of events under her belt; has held book parties both on and offline, done Facebook 'lives' on her page and held a virtual party. As a result of these amazing efforts her sales have been outstanding. 

What I love most about Amy is her willingness to share her experiences and tips with other team members, and to engage in the team page conversations. She is never afraid to ask for advice and puts into action everything from our coaching calls and more. 

I have every confidence that Amy will be a Team Leader before the end of the year. I'm really excited to watch her business go from strength to strength and hopefully attend Leadership Academy together in February 2019."

Amy shares her Usborne story with us:

"I decided to join Usborne as I had just returned to the UK following seven years teaching in Dubai and having my baby girl and was at a bit of a loose end! I needed something for me to keep my mind busy with non-baby related activities. I have loved every minute but have had to put in the time and effort however it's really paid off. 

My favourite and most successful events have been organising book parties for family and friends, and running weekly storytelling sessions at a local coffee shop. I had no experience of working in sales prior to taking this on and have been put out of my comfort zone on many occasions, but I am thankful for this as it has boosted my confidence and developed me further as a person. 

My mentor, Christina, has been so supportive and helpful. I have asked hundreds of questions but I think that is the key to getting off to a flying start as it builds your confidence quicker as you know how the business works. 

I go back to part-time teaching in January and am looking forward to spreading the Usborne love further, sharing our stories with more children and balancing my time between this and my teaching role."
