Putting on The Ritz - Top New Organiser

Running throughout the year (January - December 2018), our Achievement Awards are given to our Top Sellers, Recruiters, Organisers, Mentors and Leaders for both new and established Organisers.
We are thrilled that on Friday 22nd February 2019, we will be inviting the top three Organisers in each of the six categories to join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of Usborne Publishing at Usborne House in London, followed by an exclusive dinner in a private dining room at the world-famous five-star luxury hotel - The Ritz, and an overnight stay at the Washington Mayfair hotel!
This month we spoke to one of our potential 2018 winners, Niki Sweetnam, who is currently in first place in our Top New Organiser category. Niki started her business at the end of January 2018 and has achieved incredible sales of over £5000 to date.
Niki is bursting with ideas for developing her business and has a clear strategy planned out to continue her current success, here's her story:
'When my inspirational and ever-positive mentor Anne Devlin contacted me, I knew straight away that Usborne was for me. I knew that it would slot perfectly into my busy family life, and that it was a business that I could build up in my own time. My leader Sandy Wild has also given me practical support and advice from day one so I'd like to use this opportunity to thank them both.
Little and often is my motto, so I make sure that every single day I do something Usborne-related. My car always has 6 boxes of books and a few catalogues in it because every time is a good time to show or sell a book. Even this month, whilst I am on my holidays in a tiny village in Abruzzo, I'm selling books every day over a coffee here and an aperitif there, stress free! From now until Christmas my focus will obviously be on sales to maintain my lead as the prize offers a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the business.
Sales-wise I'm on a mission to hold two book fairs per month, and already have two schools booked for September. I will also be organising a series of 'Christmas present' evenings in friends' homes where I will offer a free gift-wrapping service (just one of the many ways of taking advantage of the cultural differences between the UK and Italy to really add value for my customers - Italians just hand over the present in the bag the shop handed to them, stapled shut!).
I've just confirmed a monthly pop-up English corner at my local cafe, then Anne and I have invested in a stand at a two day trade fair, where we hope to make valuable contacts for future business as part of a long term strategy.
Finally I find a way to tell every single person I meet about Usborne books so hopefully by the end of 2018 that will have translated into more sales!'
