Putting on The Ritz - Top Recruiter

Running throughout the year (January - December 2018), our Achievement Awards are given to our Top Sellers, Recruiters, Organisers, Mentors and Leaders for both new and established Organisers.
We are thrilled that on Friday 22nd February 2019, we will be inviting the top three Organisers in each of the six categories to join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of Usborne Publishing at Usborne House in London, followed by an exclusive dinner in a private dining room at the world-famous five-star luxury hotel - The Ritz, and an overnight stay at the Washington Mayfair hotel!
This month we spoke to one of our potential 2018 winners, Kerry Edwards, who is currently in third place in our Top Recruiter category.
Kerry is passionate about sharing the Usborne opportunity with others, and loves helping others to write a better story for their family, here's her story:
'I promoted to Team Leader in February 2017 through following the Quickstart programme. I'd had no previous direct selling experience or even worked from home, but quickly realised this was an amazing opportunity to share.
I was blown away to be announced runner up 'New Top Team Leader' in 2017, which made me believe in myself, but also reminded me that I needed to start giving this opportunity the respect it deserved.
Recruiting has become second nature to me and I love being able to share this amazing opportunity which is so achievable around family life. I love supporting my team on their journey, and opening their eyes to possibilities and helping them to achieve their goals.
When talking to team members, I like to tell my Usborne story. It shows them that I was once in their position and that they too can achieve anything if they set their minds to it and put the work in. It's important to me that they can relate to me, and I feel that inspires them to work hard to get those incentives.
I firmly believe that the Quickstart incentives are a valuable tool for starting an Usborne business. They encourage all aspects that the company has to offer. When I'm talking to potential Organisers, I ensure they know what they are, and what's involved in making sure they hit them. We talk about ways they can sell the books, schools they may be able to work with, and also any of their family or friends who may be interested in joining them in their Usborne Journey. I find having these conversations early on instills an excitement and passion before they even begin. Once all signed up, I go straight in with a call to get some concrete plans for them the following weeks, and check in regularly both one-to-one and within our team groups. They can find a whole range of training materials that I have put together or chosen from the Usborne Books at Home website. I ensure they are never left to their own devices and have everything they need to reach their full potential.
My top tip is to fuel your team's excitement by problem solving through coaching.'
