Reach for the Stars - June Stories

25th June 2018

The exciting thing about running your own Usborne business, is the opportunity to not only share our award-winning books with customers, schools and more, but also to share that same opportunity with others. Our Organisers are able to support countless individuals to write a better story for their families.

In this series of blogs, we will be following the stories of some of our newly promoted Organisers, who may be becoming a leader for the first time, or climbing further up the promotion ladder by expanding their businesses.

We hope that their stories show you that anything is achievable in your Usborne business. Just reach for the stars!

Stephanie's Story

'Being a member of the EU division of USBAH requires a Team Leader to think big and beyond borders. I have a fantastic mentor who opened my eyes to that very early on. I had a great year of personal sales in 2017 due to travelling beyond Portugal to provide school book fairs. Well stocked fairs are the key to success in schools. I just strived to be bigger and better with each one. I have the support of my husband as well, who travels full-time with me now.

I had already had some success in international recruiting, so I reinforced my efforts by investing financially and achieved very positive results. The possibility of promoting to Group Leader resulted as a goal due to this. Success in promoting happened somewhat naturally with the new people I recruited, because they were open to all of my suggestions. I actively contribute to our EU support group by sharing my personal and team's progress. The group offers daily motivation. Well organised guidance is available for every member to consult and freedom to query anyone about a doubt or challenging situation that may arise is exercised.'

Seonaid's Story

'I decided to promote to Team Leader as I felt that this was the most natural step for me, and myself and my team were at our strongest in May.

Building a good team of ladies was what worked for me, mentoring them to the best of my ability and helping them to build their businesses. Once that was in place, the volume just happened, and before I knew it we were halfway through the month and two thirds of the way to target.'

Holly's Story

'My promotion to Divisional Leader was not actually planned, having only just been promoted to Group Leader in the Spring Season. As I've only been with the company for a year, it came as quite a shock!

I had promoted three of my downline to Team Leader in the winter season and then another Team Leader in the spring. I spent most of the spring season working on my new role as Group Leader and putting together better training and processes which seemed to have really worked, as my team sales trebled from £5K to almost hitting £15K! With another two of my downline promoting to Team Leader in May, my team volume rocketing to over £19K that particular month, and all six of my leaders qualifying, the promotion just happened!

I believe the success of my promotion is all down to 'Building strong legs' and training and developing, and also my downline having strong Usborne 'Whys'.

I am excited (and slightly scared) to settle into my new role and see what the second half of the year brings.'

Alexandra's Story

'The reason I decided to promote to Team Leader was because I wanted to build and develop my Usborne business. I have always wanted a career of my own, but because I have two young children, I didn't want to work too many hours and be away from them. With the Usborne opportunity, I'm now earning money and building a dream for myself. I hope that I can also inspire my team to do the same and reach their goals.

With hard work and dedication, becoming a Team Leader is possible for everyone. Making sure you keep in contact with your team, inspiring them and showing them that anything is possible if they want to succeed. Patience is a real must for becoming a Team Leader, and being a teacher and a mother has helped me lots. While recruiting a team, don't give up on the first, second and third person, just keep going until you get a yes. Share your story and your passion and you will find your team members.'

Congratulations to Stephanie for promoting to Group Leader, Seonaid for promoting to Team Leader, Holly for promoting to Divisional Leader and Alexandra for promoting to Team Leader! We are incredibly proud of all your achievements.
