Organiser of the Month - Kim Melling
22nd November 2017
We are always amazed every month by the incredible achievements of our Organisers. November's Organiser of the Month had a whirlwind start to her Usborne career, promoting to Team Leader in just eight weeks!
Kim was nominated by her mentor Theresa McDonald, who says that she is a pleasure to work with and a real asset to the company.
"Kim joined my team in August 2017 so she could get some free books for her little girl. Little did I know what would come! Kim was introduced to the idea of going for Team Leader at the start of the Autumn season. Looking back at our conversation thread at the time, she was unsure about whether or not to do it, but decided 'What do I have to lose?' and went for it!
Boy, did she go for it! In just over eight weeks, Kim achieved not only her Kit Boost, Kit Refund and Recruiter's Reward, she also got her Double Promotion Bonus and promoted to Team Leader!
It is such a blessing to have Kim in my group and in our wider division. She is a shining example of what you can achieve when you decide to do something. A project manager by profession, Kim created a plan and then did it. There is no stopping her there though... she intends on making the most of this Usborne experience and all the ways that it can benefit her and her family. Kim, you are an inspiration on a truly galactic level!"
Kim shares her Usborne story with us:
"I came across Theresa's recruitment advert many times before deciding to take the plunge and asking for more information - it felt like such a huge decision. I had my first baby in January of this year and I was nervous about returning to work, I also wanted a hobby for me, something to increase my confidence, but it needed to work around my daughter and my part time job.
It wasn't until I hosted my launch party that I realised how much I loved it. I've always loved books and having my daughter gave me a newfound passion for children's books in particular. What I didn't realise was how much I would love talking about these books to other people, and the buzz I would get each time I saw how excited the children were to receive them!
After two weeks, I decided that I wanted to share this opportunity with others, I loved it so much that I wanted other people to experience the personal validation and passion that I was feeling every day. Alongside that, I want to build a better future for my daughter - she is my biggest inspiration. I want to be there for all of her milestones, and building a team/promoting is the best way to achieve that.
Once I decided to go for promotion, I just threw everything into it, I learned early on that it was all about reaching the right people, and I used social media to do just that. I decided I wanted to reach Team Leader status within my first 12 weeks, so I set myself weekly goals, mapped out how I would achieve the promotion criteria, and got to work! I encouraged my team to go for the Quickstart milestones too - the incentives are great to work towards and really get your business off the ground. I love mentoring, I love seeing others grow and achieve their own goals, and I love meeting all of these lovely new people! My team built quite quickly and my own sales were growing too. I reached the qualification eight weeks after joining, just six weeks after deciding to go for Team Leader, and I was overjoyed!
I had a lot of invaluable 1-2-1 support from Theresa and the promotions programme set up by her upline Emma Devine, which I'm so grateful for. Thank you! I couldn't have done it without you!
My team are so positive and enthusiastic, they are a joy to work with, and I can't thank them enough. They motivate me to keep striving towards the next step.
My top tip is to keep going, even when you're having a quiet spell. I found new team members and sales come in waves, so just keep on going and you'll get where you want to be! Self belief is critical. Doubts creep in for most of us, but if you believe you can achieve it, then you're already most of the way there!"
Congratulations Kim! A copy of our November Book of the Month will be on its way to you very soon.
