Organiser of the Month - Karen Jones 28th June 2016 Team Leader, Emma Devine shares her thoughts on her wonderful recruit, Karen Jones: "Karen only joined Usborne in February this year, and during our first chat told me she wasn't sure if she would achieve any of the Quickstart Programme milestones and was going to take things at her own pace. Four months down the line and she is now a Team Leader with a team of 12 Organisers who are achieving great things and she ticked off all four of her Passport to Success milestones within her first 12 weeks - she has definitely got the Usborne bug! Karen's sales are consistently amazing - her launch party came to over £600 in book sales alone! I believe this is due to the passion she has about the books and the opportunity. This just shines through when she talks to customers and potential team members. We recently attended the Business Development Programme Leadership Academy together at The Oxford Belfry and Karen was just like a sponge - asking questions and taking everything in. She then returned home and immediately started implementing everything she had learnt into her business. Instead of shying away from the things that challenge her, she embraces them and just goes for it! During our training we were taught how to do Facebook Live - this is something that seems quite daunting to most people, and I must admit I have not tried it yet, but Karen launched straight into it and began running training sessions for her team via Facebook Live and is already seeing positive results from this. From speaking to Karen, you would assume that she was an experienced Leader who has been running her Usborne business for years, not weeks! She is such a natural and I am so excited to watch her business grow. Her team are very lucky to have such a great Mentor and Leader to guide and support them. I decided to nominate Karen for Organiser of the Month as she is extremely inspiring and deserves recognition for her unfailing positivity, her willingness to try new things and her general attitude when things don't go as planned. She recognises that this is a big learning curve for her and it is all part of the process of building a business. I have been doing this for four and a half years now but have already learnt so much from her! She is truly inspiring and I am so pleased she decided to join my team as I have found in her a fantastic team member but also a good friend." A note from Karen herself... "Once I'd signed up, my Mentor Emma sent me details of the Passport to Success incentives programme. I thought to myself that I would give them a go and see how I got on... I'm so glad I did as I achieved all four! I now have a team of 12 Organisers who are all doing amazingly well. As I achieved my Team Leader promotion so quickly, I entered the Business Development Programme at Gold Level and the support and experience I have gained from that is unbelieveable. Passport to Success has really given my business a structure and such a strong start. My biggest tip to other Organisers would be to give the incentives a go - you have nothing to lose and everything to gain! I hope my Usborne journey continues to go from strength to strength and I look forward to watching my team build successful businesses too.
