The Usborne Books at Home 2019 Travel Incentive - Tuesday 2nd - Sunday 7th April 2019

Celebrate a year of outstanding achievements with Usborne, with this incredible travel incentive trip. Journey to a world of palaces, history and art in our magical destination for 2019 – St Petersburg. With a wealth of monuments, museums and galleries, this journey back into the past is sure to spark the imaginations of any history fans.

Let the adventure begin...

Red Fort

Our journey starts with an overnight stay in the capital of Finland, Helsinki, at the charming four-star Glo Art Hotel. The real adventure begins the next morning with a walking tour of many of the city’s leading attractions from Senate Square to the Presidential Palace to the Parliament. From Helsinki, we’ll board the MS Princess Anastasia, where cabins await for our onward travel to St Petersburg.

Waking up refreshed and relaxed, a half-day city tour of St Petersburg awaits you after breakfast on board. See the beauty of 19th Century architecture in the magnificent St Isaac’s Cathedral, visit the former headquarters of the Imperial Russian Navy at the Admiralty, and bask in the beauty of one of Russia’s most iconic buildings, the Church on the Spilled Blood. Put tired legs to rest that evening at the start of our two-night stay at the stylish Demetra Hotel.

Red FortAnother day of awe-inspiring sightseeing awaits you, including a trip to the Hermitage Museum of Art and Culture, and the monumental General Staff Building. The day’s culture concludes with a visit to the magical Fabergé Museum, on the embankment of the Fontanka River, where the world’s largest collection of Fabergé eggs are housed.

Our final day in St Petersburg takes us on a tour of the stunning Yusupov Palace. The notorious location of the murder of Rasputin, its gruesome history is intertwined with some of the most spectacular architecture in the city. The MS Princess Anastasia awaits you after your tour, for an overnight sail back to Helsinki.

There’s just enough time for one last injection of culture with a walking tour of the old wooden painted town of Porvoo – one of Finland’s six medieval towns. Cast your eyes across the famous red houses along the riverside, as you embrace your last few hours of this historic trip, before flying back to the UK.

Indulge in a place of beautiful architecture and enthralling history in this magnificent "Passage to St Petersburg".
