Sainsbury's Children's Book Awards 2017

4th August 2017

We are delighted that two Usborne books have been shortlisted for the Sainsbury's Children's Book Awards 2017, a great recognition of just how brilliant these two books are!

Knitbone Pepper Ghost Dog has been nominated for the Fiction category. It tells the story of Knitbone Pepper, the dead special ghost dog haunting Starcross Hall. In this novel, Knitbone has a problem. His beloved owner Winnie and her bonkers parents may be forced to move and leave him behind! Can the Spirits of Starcross, a gigglesome gang of ghostly animals, help Winnie save her home? This wonderful series is jam-packed with mayhem, chuckles and woofs, and is sure to become a firm favourite for children.

The Learning and Development Category is new for 2017 and we are thrilled that 100 Things to Know About the Human Body has been nominated in this category. Find out all you ever wanted to know about the human body, and many more facts that you had never even thought about! Some of our favourites include the fact that your hair can hold up an army, and that as you grow older your skeleton loses 94 bones. Perfect for fans of general knowledge, and surprisingly unputdownable for a non-fiction title!

The winners will be announced on Wednesday 23rd August and we have got everything crossed for these amazing books!
