Celebrate Share-A-Story Month with us!

8th May 2017

Every May is National Share-A-Story month in the UK, and what better way to get involved than with Usborne! And don't let living in the EU stop you from joining in the party.

Organised by the Federation of Children's Book Group, this year's theme is 'Picture a Story' and is all about embracing the power of illustrations, and getting children to use illustrations in their own creative writing.

To help get the celebrations started, Usborne has two really brilliant books that we wanted to share with you and your little illustrator.

Usborne's Write and Draw your own Comics is perfect for children that love to tell their stories through pictures. It's full of brilliant ideas for comics - from superhero adventures to animal stories and has plenty of space to fill with your own creations.

Prefer to use pictures as your inspiration? The Usborne Creative Writing Book is packed full of ideas for stories, and pictures to use as your starting points. It's even got a comic section, just in case there wasn't quite enough in Write and Draw your own Comics!

Want to make this a bigger celebration? Why not host a Share-A-Story party for your friends and embrace the love of illustrations together.

Talk to your local Usborne Organiser about organising a party or get in touch.

The Federation is a national voluntary self-funded organisation whose aim is to promote enjoyment and interest in children’s books and reading and to encourage the availability of books for children of all ages, from first picture books to young adult. Our groups around the country, whose members include parents and carers, teachers and librarians, along with our individual and professional members, all want to nurture a love of reading through the sharing of books with children.
